Slightly listing winemaker in Castellano Vineyard

I am beyond thrilled to announce that North Bar Cellars’ 2017 Tempranillo has been awarded a GOLD MEDAL at the 2021 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and is now available for purchase!

This blend of Tempranillo represents a melange of two Rogue Valley vineyards: Castellano Vineyard (90%) and Coventina Vineyard (10%). Castellano brings structure and backbone; Coventina fills in the palate and provides a full, rounded mouthfeel. These influences, along with perhaps an over-exuberance for new French oak, has produced a muscular yet elegant wine that will age gracefully for years to come.

On the nose, the wine opens with intoxicating aromas of black cherry, plum, cedar, white pepper, anise and leather. The palate is full and round with hints of dark stone fruits, cocoa nibs and sinewy tannins, concluding with an extended, spicy finish. The wine benefits from a bit of breathing before imbibing. If handy, a decanter will be ideal.

This is the very first wine I’ve ever made, and I am embarrassingly proud of it. I hope that you enjoy drinking it as much as I enjoyed making (and drinking) it. Go to northbarcellars.com and order yours now!

According to me.
